Entercom’s WXYT-FM (Detroit) has named 18-year station veteran Jeff Riger as the station’s new evening co-host, joining Bob Wojnowski from 6 – 8 p.m. Riger, who attended Wayne State University, is also a graduate of Specs Howard School of Media Arts. He started at the station as an entry-level board-operator position, but soon developed his skills as an interviewer. In the summer of 2016, Riger served as a temporary co-host with Mike Valenti during afternoon drive, when Terry Foster had taken a leave of absence for health reasons. He also has hosted time slots in late night.
Riger told the Detroit News, “I’ve done pretty much everything at the station, from running a board to getting kicked out of Jim Leyland’s office several times, so it’s exciting to take on this new role at the station.”
