Conrad Returns to Grand Rapids Airwaves

Dave Conrad

WOOD-TV reported that longtime WBCT-FM Morning Personality Dave Conrad (known on air as simply “Conrad”) has returned to the air in Grand Rapids on AM station/FM translator combo WYGR-AM/W235BN, known as “Jethro FM.” Conrad began his new show “Conrad’s Country Bunker” on October 1, airing weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Conrad told the TV station that “This is going to be live radio and I haven’t been on the radio in nine months. It’s going to be a train wreck. I don’t think anybody wants to miss it,” Conrad said. “I got to tell you; morning shows are great but getting up early sucks! So, this will be much more fun I think.”

“I have a great time on the radio, and I’d do this job for free, to be honest with you. Country listeners are a little bit different than other listeners. It’s an active format, I mean, we’ve lived through all this together.”

Conrad was last heard on B93 in January following a nearly 30-year run with the station.
