Longtime MAB legislative consultant firm Kelley Cawthorne has announced a merger with Berton Brown Consulting. The combined firm will remain known as Kelley Cawthorne.
The merger also launches a new initiative, Kelley Cawthorne Empower. Led by Berton Brown, the minority-owned consulting group focuses on diversity and inclusion, community engagement and traditionally under-represented entities, in addition to in micro-business licensing for cannabis.
“This merger combines the best of both companies and will allow us to scale our resources to better serve our clients,” said Berton Brown, majority owner and practice partner with Kelley Cawthorne Empower at Kelley Cawthorne. “I’m looking forward to reaching new horizons with some of the best professionals in the field.”
Berton Brown will lobby on behalf of Kelley Cawthorne and Kelley Cawthorne Empower. He contributes years of experience in public affairs, a diverse national clientele, and a deep understanding of policy. His sharp skills in political strategy have proven instrumental to numerous public officials and campaigns. For the past three years, the Brown Consulting Group has provided strategic communications, coalition building and business development services for corporate, non-profit and public sector clients.
“We’re thrilled to have Berton join our growing team,” said Robert Elhenicky, partner at Kelley Cawthorne. “His insight, relationships and experience are going to be a great asset to our combined clients.”
