Supporting Michigan's Future Broadcasters from the Start

The MAB Foundation is committed to supporting students as they begin their journey into broadcasting and media. Each year, we award two $750 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted at a Michigan college or university and plan to study broadcasting or a related media field.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants for the MAB Foundation High School Broadcast Scholarship must:

  1. Be a Michigan high school senior with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  2. Be a Michigan resident.
  3. Be accepted for enrollment in a two- or four-year Michigan college, university or trade school.
  4. Plan to enroll in an undergraduate course of study in a broadcast-related field.
  5. Currently participate in or contribute to the broadcast industry. Your school broadcast program counts!
  6. Exhibit professional promise within the broadcast industry.

What You'll Need to Apply

Before you begin your application, have the following materials ready:

Career Goals Essay An essay of up to 500 words, written in your own words, outlining your career goals.

Resume A current resume highlighting your education, activities, broadcast experience and other relevant involvement.

Official High School Transcript An official copy of your high school transcript.

Two Letters of Recommendation Two letters of recommendation, one of which must come from a broadcast-related source.

Completed Application Information Complete all required information in the online application.

Application Deadline

All application materials must be submitted by Friday, January 22, 2027 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Scholarship recipients will be notified in February and recognized during the Michigan Student Broadcast Awards Luncheon on March 26, 2027 at the Crowne Plaza Lansing.
