Michigan Radio Presents “Navigating a Mental Health Crisis”

This Saturday, June 17, Michigan Radio is partnering with several community organizations to present “Navigating a Mental Health Crisis”. This free event will help provide Detroit residents with the tools and resources to identify and respond to a mental health crisis. The purpose of this event is to help Detroiters become better equipped to handle crisis situations, to inform residents when and when to not call the police, learn who to call in a crisis and what long term supports are available. Partners for this event include Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network and Wayne State University.

The event takes place from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Northwest Activities Center, 18100 Meyers Rd in Detroit. Food and beverages will be available, and kids are welcome.

This event is open to the public, although advance registration is requested. Register at this link “Navigating a Mental Health Crisis” is being presented by Michigan Radio’s Amplify Team. Their goal is to connect people living in Michigan with the resources and information they need to thrive. Their reporting, how-to guides, and community events are designed to help people become their own best advocate on basic needs like housing, public safety, health and more.
