It's been quite a week of WKQI-FM (Detroit) Morning Host Mojo (aka Thomas Carballo), host of the long-running "Mojo in the Morning" radio show. This past Thursday Night (10/30), he was one of eight inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame at ceremonies in Chicago.

As part of his acceptance speech, Mojo shared how proud he was as a father of his kids, gave a shout out to his first audience in Illinois, programmer Todd Kavanaugh, and Michigan's Art Vuolo, Jr. He thanked iHeart CEO/Chairman Bob Pittman for bringing the fun back to radio, telling a great story of how Bob took him on a sales call to General Motors because the CEO was a regular listener to his show.

Mojo then offered thanks to Randy Michaels, Brad Hardin, Tim Richards for their influence on his career. He explained how proud he is to be the longest running morning show in Detroit and work on a great radio station in Channel 955 with an awesome group. iHeart/Detroit Executive VP/Programming Tony Travatto was highlighted as well for his ability to be a mentor, friend, and incredible programmer.

Earlier in the week, Mojo joined a pretty exclusive club, gifted the Key to the City by Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. He received the honor during his show on Monday. "To the host of the longest running FM show in Michigan radio history, a member of the Michigan Radio Hall of Fame, whose studio is right here in Eastern Market of Detroit, Mojo, I'm pleased to present to you the key to the city," Duggan said on-air during the broadcast.

Duggan told the host the last two people he gifted with a key to the city were the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, and Detroit rapper Big Sean.
