On November 11, The Lenawee Multimedia Network (WLEN-FM/WQTE-FM/WABJ-AM/96.5 The Cave) hosted its 19th Annual “Thank a Vet” event on Veterans Day, honoring local service members and raising funds for veterans in need. The event ran from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with radio station staff and community partners collecting donations curbside across Lenawee County.

Funds raised will support the Veterans Dire Need Fund, administered through Housing Help of Lenawee, providing emergency assistance for rent, utilities, and other essential needs.

Lenawee Broadcasting President Julie Koehn said the annual effort continues a nearly three-decade tradition started by local veteran James Mooney, celebrating the courage and commitment of Lenawee County’s service members.

This year’s campaign received major contributions from TLC Community Credit Union and Tecumseh Golf Club.

In nineteen years, the event has generated well over half a million dollars in local support, with this year’s total reaching $60,882.80.
