Townsquare’s WVFN-AM Announces New Lineup

November 14, 2025

In the wake of last week's announcement that news/talk WJIM-AM (Lansing) will be joining Audacy's "97.1 Detroit Sports Radio Network" on December 1, Townsquare Media has announced plans for relocating much of WJIM's programming to sister station WVFN-AM on that same date.

WVFN, currently known as all-sports "The Game," will adopt a new moniker as "Lansing 730."

The station promises local talk, news, and sports with real voices and real perspectives from the community with hosts who work, live and play here in Michigan.  Current WVFN hosts Tim Staudt, Matt Sheppard and Huge will remain on the station, but several hosts of WJIM-AM will be moving over the WVFN-AM.  The new weekday schedule will be:

  • 12a–3a Dave Ramsey (from WJIM-AM)
  • 3a–6a Red Eye Radio (from WJIM-AM)
  • 6a–9a The Steve Gruber Show (from WJIM-AM)
  • 9a–12p Tim Staudt
  • 12p–3p Matt Sheppard
  • 3p–6p Michael Patrick Shiels (from WJIM-AM)
  • 6p–9p (To Be Announced)
  • 9p–12a The Huge Show

Townsquare also announced that the Michigan State Spartans will also be moving from WJIM to WVFN.
