Chris Nicholas

On December 1, an application was filed to transfer ownership of Hit Radio Media's WHCH-FM (Custer/Ludington)/WMOM-FM (Pentwater-Ludington to longtime station manager Chris Nicholas.

Hit Radio Media is currently owned by from Jim Chesley, Steve Leach, and Jeff Lobdell (33-1/3% each).  Chesley is also 100% owner of Jam Radio, LLC, licensee of WGML-AM/FM (Greenville).

Hit Radio Media purchased then-dark WMOM-FM from Patrick Lopeman's Bay View Broadcasting in 2020, bringing on Nicholas as station manager.  The company then added WHCH-FM in 2023, which was a new allocation won at FCC auction.

Under the leadership of Nicholas, WMOM won Station of the Year honors in the 2023 MAB Broadcast Excellence Awards for market size 4.  In 2022, WMOM was named “Small Business of the Year” by the Ludington and Scottville Chamber of Commerce.
