2026 Radio Format Changes Announced

January 9, 2026

Over the holiday break, several radio stations in our state announced format changes and/or adjustments to kick off the new year.

In the Grand Rapids market, RadioInsight reports that Townsquare Media's WTRV-FM has flipped from soft AC to classic hits, filling the void created when sister station WFGR-FM went all-sports on December 1, joining the 971 The Ticket network.  WTRV made the change on Christmas Day. The publication notes that morning talent Andy Rent remains in that daypart, while former WFGR afternoon host Janna Hoke will moves to the WTRV.

In Traverse City, the new year brought changes at Midwestern Broadcasting's WCCW-AM/FM.  WCCW-AM has gone all-sports, also joining the 971 The Ticket network sports format.  Sister station WCCW-FM has refreshed its branding as "Good Vibes 107.5, Up North Feel Good Radio."  The station now shifted its music focus from the 70s to the hits of the 80s and 90s.  The station's on-air personality lineup remains unchanged.
