Internship Support Program

The Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB) Foundation is committed to strengthening Michigan’s broadcast pipeline by helping member stations provide meaningful, hands-on internship experiences. Each year, the MAB Foundation offers financial support to stations that hire interns, helping offset costs while enhancing professional development opportunities for students and emerging professionals.

In 2026, up to 12 qualifying MAB and MAPB member stations may receive $2,000 in Internship Support Funding (4 stations per trimester).

How Funds May Be Used

Internship Support Funds are designed to both support intern compensation and elevate the quality of the internship experience. Allowable uses include, but are not limited to:

  • Equipment, software, or tools used by the intern during the internship

  • Travel or lodging related to job-related training or station assignments

  • Other resources that meaningfully enhance learning and career readiness

At least $1,000 of the total award must be used for intern pay.
