WLEW’s Nancy Aymen Passes at 93

WLEW-AM/FM (Bad Axe) owner Nancy Aymen has passed away at age 93.  Nancy and her late husband Art Aymen married in Port Huron in 1948.  In 1971, the couple purchased Thumb Broadcasting, Inc. with radio stations WLEW-AM/FM and moved to the Bad Axe area to run the stations.

Former WLUC Chief Engineer Dies

Gray Television’s WLUC-TV (Marquette) reports that former station Chief Engineer John “Jack” Truitt died August 9 at the age of 89.  Truitt was the chief engineer at WLUC for 38 years, from 1960 until 1998.

Detroit Legend Dave Prince Dies at 91

Motor City Radio Flashbacks reports the sad news that Detroit radio legend Dave Prince has passed last week at the age of 91.  Prince spent 45 years in broadcasting, working at WPAG (as Dave Pringle), WKMH, WXYZ, WCAR, WCZY and CKLW.

Former MAB/MABF Chair Stephen Trivers Passes

The MAB is sad to pass along that former MAB and MAB Foundation Chairman Stephen Trivers passed away April 10 at age 85.  Trivers, along with Bill Wertz founded Fairfield Broadcasting in Kalamazoo, which would eventually own WQLR-FM (now WVFM), WKZO-AM, WKLZ-AM and WQSN-AM (now WTOU).
