Gray Television Salutes WNEM-TV on 70 Years of Service to its Community

This past week on a Facebook post, Gray Television highlighted the 70 year birthdays of three of its television stations nationwide, including its WNEM-TV (Saginaw). The company posted a video featuring each station’s General Managers, including WNEM’s Ken Frierson talking about their station’s history and the service they provide to their communities.

WMYD Airing Five Detroit Pistons Games

April 4, 2024

On March 28, the Detroit Pistons announced that the organization will partner with Scripps Sports to broadcast five of the club’s remaining nine games over-the-air on TV-20 Detroit (WMYD-TV). It will mark the team’s first extended relationship with an over-the-air carrier since the 2007-08 season.

Site Safety Assessments

In an effort to help provide protection to broadcasters in Michigan, the MAB and Michigan State Police Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Desk are partnering to help broadcast stations ensure safety for their staff and facilities by offering Station Site Safety Assessments that will evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Alternative Broadcast Inspections

The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is a unique partnership between the MAB and the FCC to ensure compliance with federal regulations and to avoid surprise inspections. Stations that pass the inspection receive a three-year Certification of Compliance.
