2023 NAB Marconi Radio Award Finalists Announced; Audacy’s Debbie Kenyon on List

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has revealed the finalists for the 2023 NAB Marconi Radio Awards. This year, Debbie Kenyon, SVP/Market Manager at Audacy’s Detroit cluster is a finalist in the Legendary Radio Manager of the Year category.  Kenyon was the recipient of MAB’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.

Diane Phillips Joins WNEM-TV

Gray Television’s WNEM-TV (Bay City-Saginaw) has announced that Diane Phillips has joined the station’s First Alert Weather Team as their new meteorologist.  Phillips comes to WNEM after spending two years at WTOL-TV (Toledo, OH).

Site Safety Assessments

In an effort to help provide protection to broadcasters in Michigan, the MAB and Michigan State Police Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Desk are partnering to help broadcast stations ensure safety for their staff and facilities by offering Station Site Safety Assessments that will evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Alternative Broadcast Inspections

The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is a unique partnership between the MAB and the FCC to ensure compliance with federal regulations and to avoid surprise inspections. Stations that pass the inspection receive a three-year Certification of Compliance.
