WKFR Roof Sit Raises Over $74,000 For Local Victim Services

To kick off the Memorial Day weekend, Townsquare Media’s WKFR-FM (Kalamazoo) held its 27th annual Roof Sit for children facing abuse in Southwest Michigan.  From Thursday through Saturday, (5/22-24), the station’s morning show (Dana and Jess) broadcast live from the roof of Helzberg Diamonds in nearby Portage.

Site Safety Assessments

In an effort to help provide protection to broadcasters in Michigan, the MAB and Michigan State Police Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Desk are partnering to help broadcast stations ensure safety for their staff and facilities by offering Station Site Safety Assessments that will evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Alternative Broadcast Inspections

The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is a unique partnership between the MAB and the FCC to ensure compliance with federal regulations and to avoid surprise inspections. Stations that pass the inspection receive a three-year Certification of Compliance.
