Nexstar Media's WOOD-TV (Grand Rapids) has announced that the station will host a debate among candidates for Michigan’s newly redrawn 3rd Congressional District on Tuesday, September 13.  The debate, bringing together Republican John Gibbs and Democrat Hillary Scholten will be anchored by WOOD-TV political anchor Rick Albin.

The 3rd Congressional District Debate will run 30 minutes and will be televised by the station as well as streamed live.

Michigan’s newly redrawn 3rd Congressional District makes up the heart of West Michigan, from the City of Grand Rapids to the Lakeshore including Grand Haven and Muskegon. West Michigan voters will be choosing a new Representative in this district that has been at the heart of national attention in recent years and is considered by many to be a bellwether of the nation’s political mood.
