FCC Regulatory Fees Due By September 28 and Can Be Paid Now

September 9, 2022

FCC logoMAB Washington Counsel David Oxenford advises that the due date for regulatory fees has been set by the FCC. Fees can be paid now, and must be submitted by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on September 28. The FCC released a Pubic Notice on September 8 setting these dates: https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DA-22-930A1.pdf.

A more detailed Public Notice for those regulated by the Media Bureau, including broadcasters, setting out specifics for determining how much each company owes, will be released shortly and will be available at this website: Regulatory Fees | Federal Communications Commission (fcc.gov).

As there are significant penalties for late payment, broadcasters need to be aware of the September 28 deadline. It is always a good idea to file a little early to avoid any last minute issues that, if they result in a fee being late, can result in a 25% late fee penalty.
