Denyse Shannon

Alpha Media's WSGW-AM/FM (Saginaw) has named veteran journalist Denyse Shannon as News Director. Shannon joins the morning team, anchoring the news desk and filling a vacancy left when Ann Williams retired last month.

“We are thrilled to have Denyse join the WSGW morning team and lead our news department,” Alpha Media Market Manager Mark Thomas says.

“This is a great opportunity to provide local community journalism in the Great Lakes Bay Region. I’m excited to join the morning team and work with Charlie, Pat, Art and Michael Percha,” says Shannon. She has spent her career as a reporter, writing news and features for several local publications.

No stranger to the region, Shannon is a Bay City native who left the area for a number of years. She worked in media in Clare, Mt. Pleasant, Bay City and metro Detroit. She worked as a news reporter for a radio station in Howell before returning to Bay City to work in Public Radio and television.

Shannon and her husband share three children, two grandchildren and a Golden-Newfie named Buddy.
