The MAB and MHAM Continue to Offer Support & Resources to Journalists/Broadcasters in Need

February 16, 2023

Given the tragic events at Michigan State University this week, the MAB and MHAM are hosting a special session for journalists to learn about the services available to them as they cover the pain, loss, and healing of the Spartan Community.

Many of our broadcasters in the state are alums of MSU or have deep ties to the university and the emotions of covering a story like the events this week can weigh heavy on individuals and newsrooms.

Join the MAB and MHAM on Monday, February 20 at 12:45 p.m. to hear from MHAM President and CEO Marianne Huff about available coping resources, to share your experiences, and to lend support to fellow broadcasters who will be covering this story for weeks and months to come.

Additionally, you can watch previous sessions here. The FREE program consists of structured sessions that include psychoeducation about the impact trauma and acute stress has on individuals. Each program will include “tools” for helping journalists and broadcasters cope with and reduce the impact their job-related experiences have upon their mental health and well‐being.
