Jacobs Media’s Techsurvey 2024 Launches in January

November 3, 2023

Jacobs Media announced (11/1) that registration is now open for commercial radio stations in the U.S. and Canada to participate in Techsurvey 2024.

The 2023 survey was fielded in January and February with 434 participating radio stations across North America. Fourteen different formats were represented among a diverse group of broadcasting companies, yielding more than 30,000 respondents to radio’s biggest research survey devoted to media and technology.

Past Techsurveys have enabled Jacobs Media to identify key digital trends, including smart speakers and the rise of voice technologies, on-demand audio and video entertainment options like podcasts and Netflix, and the surge in social media usage.

In Techsurvey 2024, the Jacobs Media team will continue trending on gadgets and media use, with a unique opportunity to learn more about how media habits are changing – by age and generations, by gender, and ethnicity.

In addition, the Jacobs Techsurvey will deliver fresh data for 10-12 radio formats (music + spoken word), especially useful for stations and companies to better understand how their brands are similar or different than the national norms.

New questions this year will explore the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI), what it means to be “local,” social media usage in a rapidly evolving landscape, the subscription economy, and more in-depth questions on expectations of personalities to listeners who value them most.

Jacobs Media President Fred Jacobs noted, “It’s hard to believe we’ve been doing these Techsurveys for commercial radio for two decades. Techsurvey 2024 is a much-anticipated study that tracks broadcast radio’s ability to adapt and transform in a fast-moving media landscape. We have grown this survey’s reach by adding more participating stations. We’re hoping to continue the progress with Techsurvey 2024 and its revelations about the impact of change.”

This new study will field beginning in January. Stations have until Thursday, December 21st to sign up. All information about timetables, fees, logistics, and registration are here:
