On December 8th, Krol Communications' WRSR-FM (103.9 The Fox Owosso, Flint) held an 11-hour radiothon to benefit the Old Newsboys of Flint, a local nonprofit who's mission is to "Let no child be forgotten" during the Christmas season. With help from sponsors like Streeter Brothers Concrete Contractors of Burton and the Shea Automotive Group, the station was able to raise $31,016.79 through donations and sponsorships. That total alone helped more than 1,550 kids get a Christmas in Genesee County.

The radiothon featured wreaths to be auctioned, t-shirts and badges to purchase, money donations and Frankenmuth Brewery beer also to be auctioned.  WRSR Program Director Jeremy Fenech said, "We're consistently amazed with how generous and giving this community is, and we are thrilled to be a part of it!"
