Eastern Michigan University's WEMU-FM (Ypsilanti) has announced that Kevin Meerschaert has returned to the station after three decades to become the station's new All Things Considered host.  News Director David Fair made the announcement during a five-minute interview with Meerschaert posted on the station's website.

Meerschaert started at WEMU back in 1989 as a student reporter, then moving up to a full-time reporter after graduating EMU in 1992.  In 1994, he joined WNIN-FM in Evansville, Indiana as News Director.  After nearly two years, he moved on WSCL-FM in Salisbury, Maryland where he served as News Director and Morning Edition host.  In 2001, he relocated to Florida where he served as a Senior Staff Report for WJCT-FM and also produced a local call-in talk program.

Most recently, Meerschaert was a news reporter for KSFR-FM in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Meerschaert replaces Fair as the All Things Considered host, which Fair has been hosting on a temporary basis since October.  Meerschaert begain his new position at WEMU this past Monday (2/12).
