Mac Edwards

Mac Edwards, best known in Michigan for his time managing Beasley Media Group's Detroit cluster from 2016 to 2022 has announced his retirement from the company, effective September 4, 2026.  He has been Vice-President/General Manager of the company's Charlotte, NC cluster of stations.

Edwards has had a 35-year career with Beasley, joining the company in 1991 as an on-air personality and Program Director at WKML-FM Fayetteville, NC before moving into management.  In 1996, Edwards was named General Manager of WFLB-FM  and WAZZ-AM in Fayetteville, NC.  He later became Vice President of Operations for Beasley’s Fayetteville market before being promoted to Vice President and Market Manager in 2007.

Here in Michigan, he served on the board of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters beginning in 2018 until his return to North Carolina.

“Beasley Media Group has been such an important part of my life and career journey,” Edwards said. “I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some incredibly talented people, serving amazing communities, and helping grow iconic radio brands across the country.”

Edwards thanked Beasley leadership, colleagues and partners for the opportunities and relationships he developed during his career. He said he plans to spend time with his family, including his two grandsons and a granddaughter on the way, before pursuing “new adventures.”

Beasley Chief Operating Officer Brian Beasley said Edwards’ departure marks the end of a significant chapter for the company.

“Thirty-five years ago, I had the privilege of recruiting Mac Edwards to join Beasley Media Group, and it remains one of the best decisions we’ve ever made,” Beasley said. “Throughout his remarkable career, Mac has been an outstanding leader, trusted colleague and tremendous ambassador for our company.”

Beasley credited Edwards with bringing a commitment to radio, his teams and the communities served by the company.

“His passion for radio, commitment to excellence, and dedication to our teams and the communities we serve have made a lasting impact across every market he has led,” Beasley said.
