Terry Lenz

Your MAB is sad to pass word that longtime Saginaw radio personality Terry Lenz passed away August 6 at the age of 74.  Lenz joined WSGW in 1978 and was the on-air personality for the “Four for the Morning” and “Terry and Dave in the Morning” shows, partnering with Dave Maurer. He also hosted “QuizLine” and “TradeLine”.

Lenz, who was also the regular emcee for the Saginaw Eddy Band, left WSGW in 2001 before finishing his radio career at WSAM.

“There are so many great stories about Terry,” WSGW radio personality and assistant program director Charlie Rood told Mlive. “What I loved about him was that one minute he would talk about the Three Stooges and the next minute he would talk about Beethoven.

Lenz covered area basketball and football games for WSGW, also providing the narration for Saginaw County Hall of Fame inductee videos.

A true sports enthusiast, he proudly announced countless local sporting events—ranging from high school March Madness and Friday night football to collegiate matchups and even Saginaw Spirit hockey games. His excitement was infectious, and he had an uncanny ability to make every moment feel like the big one.

A proud supporter and Alumnus of the Michigan State Spartans, Lenz rarely missed a game—cheering on his beloved Green and White through victories, rivalries, and every March Madness run. Win or lose, his Spartan spirit never wavered.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Pam; daughters, Heidi Christiansen (Jack) of Indiana and Valerie Sinnamon (John) of Massachusetts; son, Greg Lenz of Indiana; and cherished granddaughter, Madilynn Sinnamon, who brought him endless joy; his brother, Tom (Gretchen) Lenz of Michigan; and stepmother, Billie Lenz of Michigan.

A private celebration of life will be held with family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Foundation https://www.lbda.org or the National Parkinson’s Foundation https://www.parkinsons.org.
