October 23, 2026

Julie Koehn, President and CEO of Lenawee Broadcasting Company and Southeast Michigan Media, has been named the 2026 Legendary Radio Manager of the Year by the National Association of Broadcasters. Koehn received the honor Tuesday evening in New York City during the annual NAB Marconi Radio Awards.
"Julie represents the very best of local broadcasting," MAB President and CEO Casey Jones said. "What she's built in Adrian is remarkable, and equally impressive is how much she's given back to this industry. We've been fortunate to benefit from her leadership at the MAB, and I'm incredibly grateful for her continued commitment to broadcasters across Michigan. This national recognition couldn't be more deserved."
The Marconi Awards are among the radio industry's most prestigious national honors, recognizing excellence in broadcasting, leadership, and service to local communities.

Under her leadership, WLEN-FM in Adrian has earned numerous national honors, including four Marconi Awards, five NAB Crystal Radio Awards, and the prestigious Crystal Heritage Award for outstanding community service.
Her influence extends well beyond Lenawee County. Koehn currently serves as Second Vice Chair of the NAB Radio Board, helping guide national conversations about the industry's future. She is also a current MAB Board member, former MAB Board Chair, a member of the Michigan Broadcasting Hall of Fame, and a recipient of the MAB Lifetime Achievement Award.
Koehn's recognition demonstrates the important role Michigan broadcasters continue to play in shaping the national industry. Her career reflects the impact of strong local leadership, meaningful community connections, and an enduring commitment to the future of broadcasting.
The Michigan Association of Broadcasters congratulates Julie and the Lenawee Broadcasting team on this extraordinary honor.
