Michael Courier Joins WZZM as Weekend AM Anchor/Weekday AM Reporter

TEGNA's WZZM-TV (Grand Rapids) has announced the hiring of Michael Courier to its news team as Weekend Morning Anchor and Weekday Morning Reporter. A Bay City, Michigan native, Courier is excited to return to his home state after spending more than four years reporting in Texas.
Courier began his television news career at KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas, where he spent three years covering stories across the Borderland. During his time there, he served as a morning reporter, traffic anchor and fill-in news anchor. He also produced and anchored the station’s midday newscast.
He later made the move to Austin, Texas, joining KVUE as a morning reporter, while filling in at the anchor desk. Michael covered breaking news, local government, community events and stories impacting people across Central Texas.
After several years in Texas, he and his wife decided it was time to head north and return to their Michigan roots. Courier anchored his first newscast on the station October 24.
