Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame to Induct 5 Members, including former WXYZ VP/GM

The Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame announced Thursday (2/26) that it will induct five members in 2026.  The five include Jeanne Findlater, former VP/GM of WXYZ (Detroit); photographer Steve Jessmore, who worked for different publications, including The Flint Journal; Bill Kubota, a video journalist at Detroit Public Television, who previously worked at WXYZ and WJRT in Flint.

The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) announced its 2025 Salute to Excellence Awards winners during its annual gala at the #NABJ25 Convention & Career Fair this past Saturday in Cleveland.  Among the winners this year are Ann Arbor-based Michigan Public and Flint-based WJRT-TV.

Regional RTDNA Murrow Award Winners Announced

The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) has announced the recipients of the 2025 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards.  8 Michigan broadcasters won a total of 12 awards in Region 7, which is shared with Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.  Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Murrow set as a standard for the profession of electronic journalism.
