Ken Calvert, who was on Detroit radio for over 40 years, died on Wednesday. He was 72. He worked for several Detroit rock stations, such as WRIF-FM, WCSX-FM, WWWW-FM, WLLZ-FM and others. He was also a Detroit Pistons PA announcer for 16 years.
ProPublica has announced that Michigan Radio’s criminal justice reporter Beenish Ahmed has been selected to join their Local Reporting Network. Ahmed and Michigan Radio will be one of five partner newsrooms and local journalists to be added to the ProPublica Network.

Throughout his career, Swindell served as Creative Services Director/Executive Morning Show Producer at WDFN-AM (1994-2002); APD/Creative Director at WXYT-AM/FM (2002-2007), and Imaging Director for CBS Radio Detroit (2008-2015).
