WLNS Wraps Up 2024 Operation Backpack

Nexstar Media’s WLNS-TV (Lansing) has wrapped up their 2024 Operation Backpack campaign.  The station partnered with Catholic Charities of Ingham, Eaton and Clinton Counties and Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee, and Hillsdale Counties to collect school supplies for local children, including foster children, adopted children, refugees, and others who may need assistance.

Site Safety Assessments

In an effort to help provide protection to broadcasters in Michigan, the MAB and Michigan State Police Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Desk are partnering to help broadcast stations ensure safety for their staff and facilities by offering Station Site Safety Assessments that will evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Alternative Broadcast Inspections

The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is a unique partnership between the MAB and the FCC to ensure compliance with federal regulations and to avoid surprise inspections. Stations that pass the inspection receive a three-year Certification of Compliance.
