FCC Media Bureau Issues Biennial Ownership Report Reminder

This past Monday (7/17). the FCC’s Media Bureau issued a public notice reminding all U.S. broadcast licensees of the importance of filing their biennial ownership reports. Doing so requires the use of FCC Form 323 or 323-E, per Commission rules.

WDET Welcomes Adam Fox as New Program Director

Wayne State University’s WDET 101.9 FM has announced the addition of media and arts leader L. Adam Fox as Program Director. Fox will lead the WDET team as it develops news, music and conversation programming that speaks to the unique, diverse and thriving Detroit community. Fox reports to WDET General Manager, Mary Zatina.

Site Safety Assessments

In an effort to help provide protection to broadcasters in Michigan, the MAB and Michigan State Police Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Desk are partnering to help broadcast stations ensure safety for their staff and facilities by offering Station Site Safety Assessments that will evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Alternative Broadcast Inspections

The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is a unique partnership between the MAB and the FCC to ensure compliance with federal regulations and to avoid surprise inspections. Stations that pass the inspection receive a three-year Certification of Compliance.
