Morgan Murphy Media Elevates Three to Additional Roles

Morgan Murphy Media will launch a new Marketing and Creative Services team — a company-wide initiative designed to streamline and strengthen marketing efforts across all its platforms. Scot Chastain, General Manager at WISC-TV Madison and a seasoned marketing leader, has been named vice president of the new team effective immediately. Reporting to Scot in leadership roles will be directors Chris Hussey and Ross Lytle, currently marketing leaders within the company.

FCC Issues Urgent Cyber-Security Alert to Broadcasters

February 6, 2026

Last Friday (1/30), the FCC issued a Public Notice strongly urging broadcasters to implement immediate cybersecurity protections after a rise in ransomware attacks on small and mid-size communications companies. This is not a routine advisory. The FCC is making clear that stations are expected to follow recognized cybersecurity best practices and that certain incidents may trigger mandatory reporting to federal authorities.

Site Safety Assessments

In an effort to help provide protection to broadcasters in Michigan, the MAB and Michigan State Police Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Desk are partnering to help broadcast stations ensure safety for their staff and facilities by offering Station Site Safety Assessments that will evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Alternative Broadcast Inspections

The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is a unique partnership between the MAB and the FCC to ensure compliance with federal regulations and to avoid surprise inspections. Stations that pass the inspection receive a three-year Certification of Compliance.
