Townsquare’s WRKR/Kalamazoo Raises $20k for Tornado Relief

The fundraising started on Monday morning (3/9) with Frankhouse vowing to stay on the air until at least $10,000 in donations were received.  “Starting Monday at 6 AM, I will be taking over the airwaves and will not leave until we raise $10,000. All funds raised will go directly to St. Joseph and Branch County for the relief funds.

Radio First to Consolidate Operations in Port Huron

Radio First (Liggett Communications) has announced some major changes to its cluster in Port Huron. The 1380 WPHM calls will move to 1450 WHLS and its 105.5 translator along with its morning show hosted by Paul Miller.  Along with Miller, the rest of the new 1450/105.5 programming will be the country/folk/rock programming currently heard on 1590 WHLX and its 92.7 translator (“92.7 The Hills”).

Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame to Induct 5 Members, including former WXYZ VP/GM

The Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame announced Thursday (2/26) that it will induct five members in 2026.  The five include Jeanne Findlater, former VP/GM of WXYZ (Detroit); photographer Steve Jessmore, who worked for different publications, including The Flint Journal; Bill Kubota, a video journalist at Detroit Public Television, who previously worked at WXYZ and WJRT in Flint.
