Chris Nicholas Acquires WMOM/WHCH Ludington
On December 1, an application was filed to transfer ownership of Hit Radio Media’s WHCH-FM (Custer/Ludington)/WMOM-FM (Pentwater-Ludington to longtime station manager Chris Nicholas. Under the leadership of Nicholas, WMOM won Station of the Year honors in the 2023 MAB Broadcast Excellence Awards for market size 4. In 2022, WMOM was named “Small Business of the Year” by the Ludington and Scottville Chamber of Commerce.

RadioInsight reports that Armada Media is reacquiring the Marinette Wisconsin/Menominee, Michigan cluster that it sold to Radio Plus Bay Cities LLC back in 2013. In an application filed December 1, Armada’s AMC Partners Escanaba LLC will buy back WLST-FM (Marinette. WI). WSFQ-FM (Peshtigo, WI), WHYB-FM (Menominee), WMAM-AM/W283DD (Marinette, WI) and WAGN-AM/W261DM (Menominee).

Civic Media Officially Moves Into Michigan’s Upper Peninsula
During the Government shutdown, Michigan Civic Media Alliance closed on its its deal to buy WUPY-FM (Ontonagon), WMPL-AM/WKMJ-FM (Hancock) and WJMS-AM/WIMI-FM (Ironwood) from Jerry Hackman’s J&J Broadcasting. The deal also included the Hancock-licensed translator W297CD that simulcasts WMPL as well as the Ironwood-licensed translator W221EH that simulcasts WJMS.
