MAB to Offer Cyber Security Assessments for Broadcasters

January 27, 2023

The Michigan Association of Broadcasters wants our stations to feel protected both physically and online. Last year, the MAB and Michigan State Police began offering Site Safety Assessments to evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Now, the MAB and MSP are extending our support to members by offering free cyber security assessments.

Interested stations can register for a Vulnerability Scan which is a non-intrusive network scan identifying open ports as well as Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE).

Register here.

Cyber Security will be among the topics covered at the upcoming Great Lakes Media Show on March 15 at the Lansing Center.

Alex Joves, Region 5 Regional Director for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and Bill Nash, Cybersecurity Advisor, will talk about the cybersecurity challenges and opportunities organizations face, and how the agency works with the public and private sectors including broadcasters to keep critical infrastructure and the public safe from cyber attacks.

More details on the upcoming session can be found here.
