The FCC just released a Public Notice announcing a National EAS Test will be held on November 17, 2026 and noting the deadlines for stations to file Forms One, Two and Three relating to that test.

Supreme Court Stays Appeals Court Rejection of New LUC Requirements

September 11, 2026

By granting the stay, the Public Notice’s interpretation of the application of LUC applies, so it appears that political party advertising and that of joint fundraising committees, if authorized by a federal candidate, is now subject to LUC until the Supreme Court can fully consider the merits of the case, likely well after the upcoming election.

Site Safety Assessments

In an effort to help provide protection to broadcasters in Michigan, the MAB and Michigan State Police Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Desk are partnering to help broadcast stations ensure safety for their staff and facilities by offering Station Site Safety Assessments that will evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Alternative Broadcast Inspections

The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is a unique partnership between the MAB and the FCC to ensure compliance with federal regulations and to avoid surprise inspections. Stations that pass the inspection receive a three-year Certification of Compliance.
