Beasley Media Group Launches Podcast Radio U.S. Format in Detroit

Podcast Radio features live “Podjocks”, including former KROQ-FM (Los Angeles) Personality and Legendary Radio Hall of Famer Gene “Bean” Baxter. The format will showcase the very best produced and popular podcasts from the United States and all over the world, including audio content from TedAudio (TedTalk), Wondery, Evergreen, Corus, and more! The initiative with Beasley is the first of its kind for the company in the United States.

Audacy’s WXYT-FM/Detroit Announces New Morning Show

Audacy has announced a new weekday morning show for 97.1 The Ticket (WXYT-FM), the flagship radio station of the Detroit Lions. The station has elevated Jim Costa to new morning show host alongside current morning show co-host Jon Jansen.

WPHM Adds More Fox Sports Programming

September 29, 2023

Liggett Communication’s News, Talk, and Sports WPHM-AM (Port Huron) has announced that it is adding more programming from Fox Sports Radio. Chris Broussard and Rob Parker’s “The Odd Couple” will be heard starting Monday, October 2 from 7 to 10 p.m. Parker is a veteran Detroit area journalist and Broussard is an NBA analyst from Cleveland.

Site Safety Assessments

In an effort to help provide protection to broadcasters in Michigan, the MAB and Michigan State Police Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Desk are partnering to help broadcast stations ensure safety for their staff and facilities by offering Station Site Safety Assessments that will evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Alternative Broadcast Inspections

The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is a unique partnership between the MAB and the FCC to ensure compliance with federal regulations and to avoid surprise inspections. Stations that pass the inspection receive a three-year Certification of Compliance.
