WCMU Launches 5th Annual “Foodraiser” to Fight Hunger

Blarney Stone’s WGRY-FM Joins 97.1 Detroit Sports Radio Network

Blarney Stone Broadcasting’s “Up North Sports Radio” WGRY-FM (Grayling) is the latest station to join the statewide 97.1 Detroit Sports Radio Network, originating at Audacy’s WXYT-FM (Detroit).  WGRY joins four other stations around the state that are airing the new network, which launched this past Monday (12/1).

Currently celebrating its 55th year, Operation Good Cheer provides seasonal comfort and joy to children in Michigan’s foster care system through thoughtful, personalized gift deliveries. Each year, program administrators collaborate with foster care agencies to collect holiday wish lists of up to six gift ideas from participating children across the state.

Site Safety Assessments

In an effort to help provide protection to broadcasters in Michigan, the MAB and Michigan State Police Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Desk are partnering to help broadcast stations ensure safety for their staff and facilities by offering Station Site Safety Assessments that will evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Alternative Broadcast Inspections

The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is a unique partnership between the MAB and the FCC to ensure compliance with federal regulations and to avoid surprise inspections. Stations that pass the inspection receive a three-year Certification of Compliance.
