Detroit Rock Radio Icon Doug Podell Announces Retirement

After 50 years in the industry, WLLZ-FM (Detroit) afternoon host Doug Podell has announced that he will hang up his headphones and retire following his show on December 5. He made the announcement on the station’s Josh Innes morning show this past Monday (11/10).

Site Safety Assessments

In an effort to help provide protection to broadcasters in Michigan, the MAB and Michigan State Police Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Desk are partnering to help broadcast stations ensure safety for their staff and facilities by offering Station Site Safety Assessments that will evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Alternative Broadcast Inspections

The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is a unique partnership between the MAB and the FCC to ensure compliance with federal regulations and to avoid surprise inspections. Stations that pass the inspection receive a three-year Certification of Compliance.
