Laurie Kahn Passes
The MAB is sad to report the passing of Laurie Kahn, the founder of Media Staffing Network. Kahn has done numerous sessions for broadcasters in Michigan and was a great advocate and supporter of connecting students to the industry.

On Friday, November 4 at 9:00 p.m., Graham Media’s WDIV-TV (Detroit) will debut the documentary “Going 4 It: The Inside Story of the Rise of WDIV.” which will air Friday, November 4th at 9 p.m.
The station was known as WWJ-TV from its 1947 sign-on (under the ownership of the parent company of the Detroit News) until it was sold on 1978 to the Post-Newsweek Corporation.
Society of Professional Journalists Release Safety Guidelines
The Society of Professional Journalists (SPL) has just released a list of suggested safety guidelines, aimed at helping television news managers create safe working conditions for solo television reporters, also known as MMJs. SPL recommends news managers share these guidelines with staff in newsrooms around the country.
