Each month, Scripps’ Media’s WXMI-TV (Grand Rapids) recognizes someone doing good in West Michigan as the station’s “Pay it Forward Person of the Month.”On Thursday, January 25, all of the monthly winners from 2023 were honored during the annual WXMI-TV “Pay it Forward” Awards Gala at Frederik Meijer Gardens. One winner was also named the FOX 17 and Lake Michigan Credit Union Pay it Forward Person of the Year.

Site Safety Assessments

In an effort to help provide protection to broadcasters in Michigan, the MAB and Michigan State Police Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Desk are partnering to help broadcast stations ensure safety for their staff and facilities by offering Station Site Safety Assessments that will evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Alternative Broadcast Inspections

The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is a unique partnership between the MAB and the FCC to ensure compliance with federal regulations and to avoid surprise inspections. Stations that pass the inspection receive a three-year Certification of Compliance.
